NYU Grossman School of Medicine, an affiliate of Woodhull Medical Center, is currently recruiting for a Director of Hematology and Medical Oncology. We are seeking a passionate and energetic clinician who is board certified in both Hematology and Oncology and can provide expertise in either hematologic malignancies or solid tumors. The successful candidate will create and implement a strategic vision for patient-oriented cancer care services, and ensure the delivery of evidence-based cancer care to the community. This physician leader will collaborate with the hospital's clinical and administrative leadership to ensure the delivery of safe, high quality, and effective care in a welcoming, patient-centric environment. The successful candidate must have leadership experience within a community cancer center and experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Further important qualities are a dynamic and collaborative leadership style, excellent organization and communication skills, programmatic development abilities, skills in process improvement and talent aligning stakeholders to a common vision and goal. The department leader should also support both clinical and research missions.

Candidates with existing ties to the community or interest in creating community relationships are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education, and clinical care.

Responsibilities include:

* Create and execute the strategic vision for cancer care services for this region, including clinical care, patient experience, and financial metrics.

* Lead and direct a patient-centered, multidisciplinary cancer care program

* Expand the number of patients served by the medical center, and the range of cancer care services available

* Advocate for and enable interdepartmental and interdisciplinary clinical services.

* Examine and diagnose disorders and diseases of the blood, bone marrow, vascular and immune system.
