JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Postdoctoral position in public health/clinical informatics in healthcare is immediately available with close collaboration with the Department of Neurology with focus on cerebrovascular diseases using high dimensional and multi-faceted data. This person's primary research will be focused on NIH-funded studies to develop prediction models for stroke using electronic health record data enriched with social determinants of health from multiple institutions. This position requires attention to detail and strong organizational and interpersonal as well as scientific writing skills. This position is scheduled to begin as soon as possible. Geographic proximity to Hershey Medical Center/Penn State College of Medicine is necessary for in-person activities (e.g. meetings/presentations); however, the position includes opportunities for hybrid work. The postdoctoral scholar will be expected to author publications resulting from his/her research and will be provided mentored opportunities to obtain independent grant support in later years. The following education and work experience are required: * A PhD in statistics/ biostatics, public/population health, bioinformatics, computer science, or another appropriate field, or an MD (or MD, MPH) with experience working with big data This is a limited-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire.
