JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, in Hershey, PA, is seeking a Researcher. A Faculty level Researcher position is available to conduct basic and translational pediatric cancer research focusing on RNA-biology and therapeutic targeting for AML in the Department of Pediatrics at Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, PA. The candidate should have an M.D., Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree and a strong background in biochemistry and molecular biology with specific interest and experience in autophagy and programmed cell death. The candidate must have demonstrated excellent scientific productivity, scientific writing and communication skills, and the ability to conduct research independently or in team settings. The candidate will be responsible for developing a novel cancer therapeutic approach for patients with cancer. Responsibilities include but not limited to: 1) Conducting active lab research to a high standard and in accordance with all institutional and federal regulations 2) Developing new research ideas and collaborations 3) Assisting the PI in grant and manuscript submission 4) Participating in teaching and training of students, fellows, and technicians for their research projects. This is a limited-termnon-tenure lineposition funded for one year from date of hire, with possibility of refunding.
