West Virginia University School of Medicine, Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry is seeking a Child Psychologist qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV.

The successful candidate may also be assigned to provide services at other worksites, including but not necessarily limited to, West Virginia University Hospitals, Inc., West Virginia University Medical Corporation doing business as "University Health Associates," [etc.] located in West Virginia and, as such, travel is anticipated and expected to fulfill said duties at these other worksites.

Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the area of Child Psychology, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of Developmental Disabilities and Neurodevelopmental Disorders.. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the psychologist will also be actively involved in teaching medical students and residents, and psychology graduate students and fellows.

Qualifications: Applicants must have a PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology from an APA/CPA-accredited graduate program with an APA/CPA-approved internship and post-doctoral training in neurodevelopmental disabilities. Applicant must be immediately eligible for licensure in West Virginia. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

Candidates must demonstrate strong awareness of and adherence to evidence-based strategies for the evaluation and treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders. The psychologist will primarily work in an interdisciplinary team to evaluate and treat patients, ages 0-15, who are served at the WVU Medicine Children's Neurodevelopmental Center. The position will include clinical, teaching/supervision, and research responsibilities.The candidate will be involved in our well-known, training-focused APA-accredited clinical psychology internship in our Clinical Child Track, and our Pediatric Fellowship. There are a variety of opportunities for involvement with interdisciplinary clinics across the hospital system as well as involvement in outreach and training for families and statewide providers. Research opportunities within the NDC are also plentiful.

Our new, 150-bed WVU Medicine Children's Hospital has a full suite of pediatric operating rooms, cardiac catheterization lab/interventional radiology, GI-endoscopy with dedicated pediatric anesthesia staff, and the only epilepsy monitoring unit in the state equipped to serve children. The hospital includes 34 pediatric beds, 54 NICU beds, 26 PICU beds, Heart Center, and a dedicated Cancer Center. WVU Medicine Children's is a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, with plans to become Level 1 as it is for adults currently. We have a Birthing Center including a 30-bed obstetrical unit and maternal-fetal medicine clinic. J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital is the only hospital in West Virginia with a pediatric cardiac surgery program, and the only hospital in the state to receive Magnet status for nursing excellence.

The WVU Children's Neurodevelopmental Center (NDC) is a multi-disciplinary center located approximately 15 minutes from Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV, that offers outpatient treatment for children who have been diagnosed with or are suspected of having neurodevelopmental disabilities. The clinic houses three service lines. The Child Development Clinic is comprised of medical providers (Neurologists, Nurse Practitioners), pediatric psychologists, and neuropsychologists. The Pediatric Rehabilitation Clinic houses speech, occupational, and physical therapy services. The third branch is the Intensive Applied Behavior Analysis Clinic, which services young patients with Autism. Each of the three service lines houses robust training programs with a variety of learners from various disciplines, as well as outreach programming for the community and statewide providers. Under the leadership of Children's Neurosciences, the NDC seeks to expand services and consultation across the hospital system and welcomes innovative, collaborative providers to join the growing team.
