West Virginia University School of Medicine, WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute, and the Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry are recruiting a Child Psychiatrist (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV. Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the area of child and adolescent psychiatry. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Qualifications: Applicants must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical licensure. Successful candidate must have completed an accredited psychiatry residency program as well as child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship program. Candidates must be board certified / eligible in child psychiatry. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment. Successful candidate will have a background in assessment and treatment of a wide range of interrelated biological, psychological and social problems experienced by children and adolescents. Within the Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry, there is a strong collaborative focus on clinical service, teaching, and scholarship among psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers. The Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry is dedicated to the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion in fostering a multicultural pluralistic environment. The WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute guides a team of 170 dedicated faculty in providing compassionate patient care and advanced medicine through education, research, and outreach in the many diverse communities we serve. The Institute spearheads efforts to develop innovative solutions for neurological and psychiatric conditions ranging from Alzheimer's to Parkinson's; autism to stroke; and paralysis to chronic pain, addictions, and traumatic brain injury. WVU Medicine Children's is a regional referral center for pediatric subspecialties and provides faculty direct access to highly advanced technology and comprehensive ancillary pediatric services. The new 150 bed Children's Hospital and Women's Pavilion opened in September 2022. It has a full suite of pediatric operating rooms, pediatric imaging suite, and dedicated pediatric anesthesia staff. The hospital includes 34 pediatric beds, 54 NICU beds, 31 PICU beds, Heart Institute, and a dedicated cancer center. WVU is a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, with plans to become Level 1, as it is for adults currently. The West Virginia University Health System is West Virginia's largest health system and the state's largest employer.
