Overview:

SCCI is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team! In this position, you will design, develop, and maintain mechanical systems and components. Occasional travel may be required. This position is in support of future work expected in 2025. This position is located in Dam Neck, VA.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:



  • Analyzing and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project goals and deadlines are met
  • Conducting research to evaluate new technologies and materials for potential application
  • Overseeing the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment
  • Ensuring all mechanical engineering projects, initiatives, and processes comply with applicable safety and regulatory requirements
  • Preparing and presenting detailed technical reports and documentation
  • Providing support in the delivery and sustainment of Combat Systems


Essential Skills and Qualifications:



  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance
  • Must have a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline
  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in engineering
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices
  • Proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering tools
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal



Preferred Skills and Experience:



  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Demonstrated expertise in mechanical design and development.
  • Proven ability to manage and execute engineering projects
