JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: TheLaboratory of Marina Fericin theDepartment of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BMB)andCenter for Eukaryotic Gene Regulation (CEGR)at thePennsylvania State University(PSU, University Park)is offering several positions forPostdoctoral Fellowsto interrogate the structure and function of biomolecular condensates, particularly pertaining to mitochondria. The Feric lab takes an interdisciplinary approach to uncover the driving forces underlying the organization of the cell, in the context of human health and age-related diseases, through the lens of biomolecular phase transitions. Work ranges from studying the phase behavior ofin vitroandin vivobiomolecular condensates to the cellular mechanisms that regulate them. We will foster a collaborative, inclusive work environment and build a diverse team of biologists, chemists, physicists, and engineers. Education and Experience Ideal candidates will have a PhD in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biophysics, Chemical and Biological Engineering or a related discipline. Prior experience with at least one area is required: protein and nucleic acid purification, mammalian cell culture, mitochondrial biology, advanced genetic engineering, next-generation sequencing & analysis, advanced light microscopy & image analysis, or biophysical modelling.
