GMP Lab Services Waste Technician

What this job involves - Under general supervision, perform Lab Services functions supporting the customers. This position is responsible for the performance of tasks associated with collecting and consolidating all laboratory wastes in accordance with JLL and client's policies and procedures while at the client site. Interact with customer base and collaborate with colleagues to maintain a successful partnership and exceed expectations. Perform other Laboratory Technical Services duties as directed by supervision.

What is your day to day?
Execute hazardous waste and medical waste programs as defined by site requirements. This includes collection and consolidation of solid and liquid hazardous waste and medical waste.
Maintain proper housekeeping and compliance according to procedures.
Always wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) appropriate for the specific task at hand as outlined in the policies and procedures applicable to the hazardous and medical waste functions at the site.
Conduct periodic inspections to ensure the staging, accumulation, and storage areas are compliant with all procedures and regulations.
Report to management any and all concerns regarding waste process and inspection observations.
Communicate with management regarding supply stock of labels and appropriate containers as defined by the customer and site regulation.
Communicate with management regarding completion of customer request Work Orders.
Manage stock of critical gases as per site requirements. Communicate with management and end-users regarding backup stock locations.
Fulfil internal/external chemical requests submitted by the customers.
Maintain stockroom inventories according to the thresholds determined by customers' stockroom manager(s).
Communicate with customers and/or shipping department to schedule inter-site and intra-site shipments of materials.
Communicate with supervisor regarding supply stock, material needs, software upgrades, etc.
Assist with chemical stockroom, laboratory supply stockroom, and site inventories.
Comply with all regulations and documentation while performing services in applicable areas.
Collect and supply metrics as required by management.
Provide documentation as needed.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment within the laboratory and office.
Performs other duties within Lab Services department as requested by management.
Complies with all JLL and customer company policies and procedures and adheres to JLL company standards.

Work Schedule
Pittman Schedule with two shifts available: 7AM - 7PM and 7PM - 7AM.
Desired experience and technical skills

Required
Life Sciences industry experience.
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Comply with all safety standards and policies required for site, department, and job function.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with management and employees at all levels within an organization, including customers.
Must be a team player committed to working in a safe, high-performance, and quality-driven environment.
Valid driver's license with clean driving record

Preferred
Prior experience in a regulated environment such as the pharmaceutical, medical device, or other Life Science industry preferred.
Bachelor's Degree and/or Associate Degree in a technical field and/or work experience equivalent acceptable.
RCRA training with current updates preferred.
DOT Awareness training with current updates preferred.
40-hr OSHA training with current updates preferred.
