Plumbing Facilities Maintenance Technician

What this job involves: As a facility maintenance plumber at our pharma solutions company, your main duty will be to oversee and perform various maintenance tasks, providing support as needed. You will have the crucial responsibility of managing and supervising the daily operations of mechanical systems on site, with a specific focus on plumbing, water/steam processes, and HVAC systems. To thrive in this role, we are seeking an individual with a solid understanding of building infrastructure and plumbing. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining and repairing plumbing systems and equipment, ensuring the efficient and optimal performance of all mechanical systems. Additionally, you will collaborate with the maintenance team, follow safety protocols, keep accurate maintenance records, and deliver exceptional customer service. What your day-to-day will look like:
Under minimal supervision and direction, performs all routine and necessary maintenance, repair, and installation of plumbing, HVAC and building mechanical systems.
Monitor operation and maintain heating and cooling equipment, pressure boiler systems, heating and hot water equipment; pumps, valves, piping and filters.
Open clogged drains, repair or replace gaskets, fixtures, washers, leaks, tanks, laboratory components, and systems: tests or assists with back flow devices and ensures adherence to local codes and regulations.
Understand the engineering design and operational aspects of the building and critical support systems and components.
Must be able to immediately recognize system shortcomings, troubleshoot and respond to operational and emergency situations.
Position will be called upon to review logs to ensure proper operation of equipment; responsible for reporting any problems/malfunctions on an as need basis.
Checks malfunctioning equipment and ascertains corrective action required to restore to satisfactory operating condition.
Communicate with work order requestors to better understand their needs.
Write and maintain maintenance work orders and material or supply requisitions as needed.
Performs any and all other tasks and duties assigned.

Desired or Preferred Experience and Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office is considered advantageous.
Prior experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical environments is beneficial.
Holding a Journeyman license in plumbing or HVAC is a positive, although not required.
Having completed trade, technical, or vocational schooling is also seen as favorable.
Required Skills and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required.
Mechanical knowledge and basic plumbing skills.
2+ years of working experience in Commercial or Industrial environments.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively through oral and written reports.
Proficient computer skills necessary for daily work and communication.
Ability to maintain exemplary tenant relations and deliver excellent customer service.
Capable of working independently as well as a productive team member.
Able to safely perform frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, pushing, pulling, and turning.
Capable of lifting 50+ lbs. on a regular basis.
