What this job involves: The Engineering Services Technician at our Bio Pharma Company is responsible for inspecting and maintaining all HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems within our facilities. Their primary goal is to achieve efficient operating results and extend the equipment's life expectancy. This includes ensuring energy-efficient and safe maintenance practices, minimizing downtime through proactive repairs, and conducting inspections and repairs on property interiors and exteriors.

What your day-to-day will look like:
Maintain, monitor, and perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on various systems, including mechanical (HVAC, computer room air conditioners), electrical (UPS systems, generators, transfer switches, switchgear), fire detection and suppression, life safety, lighting, and digital systems (card access, CCTV), as well as non-critical refrigeration equipment.
Adhere to standard operating procedures and maintenance guidelines.
Supervise critical work efforts, including managing third-party contractors, to ensure safe and compliant operations and maintenance.
Receive and execute work orders for preventive and corrective maintenance on critical systems and building structures. Consult with the supervisor to order necessary materials and complete all maintenance tasks. Finalize work orders by documenting completed work in the computerized maintenance management system.
Respond promptly to emergency situations, including fires, evacuations, equipment failures, and address customer concerns in a professional manner.
Comply with departmental policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials. Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
Inspect, maintain, and operate HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems to ensure efficient performance and extend their lifespan.
Anticipate necessary repairs and take proactive measures to minimize downtime.
Perform inspections and repairs on interior and exterior areas, including walls, flooring, fixtures, roofing systems, and lighting.
Conduct regular maintenance activities following standard operating procedures and guidelines.
Follow the supervisor's instructions to execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for various systems.
Document completed work and update work order statuses in the computerized maintenance management system.
Address customer concerns promptly and professionally.
Create and maintain a clean and safe workplace environment.
Monitor and update work order statuses to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Report major repairs or additions needed for building operating systems to managers.
Attend work and safety meetings as required to stay informed and contribute to a safety-oriented culture.
Be flexible and willing to undertake additional duties as required to meet objectives and contribute to other capacities when necessary.

Work Schedule: Dayshift + On Call Availability Required

Desired or preferred experience and technical skills:
Possess a valid trade license, completion of an apprenticeship program, or equivalent vocational certification in a relevant trade.
Previous experience working in a life sciences environment is desired, demonstrating familiarity with the unique requirements and regulations of the industry.

Required Skills and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification.
Possess a strong understanding of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, along with the ability to troubleshoot and perform repairs effectively.
Must possess a valid driver's license to fulfill job responsibilities that may involve traveling on the campus or as needed off-site locations.
Proficiency in using tools, equipment, and technology relevant to conducting inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Familiarity with preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance practices and their application to building systems.
Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards related to equipment, systems, and hazardous material handling.
Ability to accurately document work performed, update work order statuses, and maintain detailed records in computerized maintenance management systems.
Capability to respond swiftly and efficiently to emergency situations such as fires, evacuations, and equipment failures.
Possess strong customer service skills to address customer concerns promptly and professionally.
Adherence to departmental policies and procedures for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
Willingness to undertake additional duties, adapt to changing requirements, and contribute to other capacities as required.

Estimated total compensation range for this position is:

100,000.00 - 125,000.00 USD per year
