Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Aviation Engineer, we'll count on you to:



  • Work as a key member of a aviation design team for moderate to large projects and work independently on smaller projects
  • Prepare or oversee the following aviation design work using FAA standards: airfield geometric layouts, airfield pavement design, airfield pavement sections, basic airspace analysis, airfield pavement markings, grading and drainage design using AutoCad Civil 3D.
  • Prepare and oversee the following elements of various sizes of contract plans, specifications and estimates: demolition plans, geometry plans, grading plans, paving plans, fencing plans, pavement marking plans, temporary erosion control plans, utility plans, and construction phasing plans
  • Assist in the management of larger projects or manage smaller projects
  • Include preparing scopes, budgets and schedules
  • Manage the following work elements: day-to-day communication (verbal and written) with the client, support and advise junior engineers and technical staff, write reports and technical memos, coordinate with subconsultants, keep project on schedule and within budget, and keep client satisfied
  • Perform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • PE
  • A minimum of 5 years design experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD Civil 3D, FAA's FAARFIELD Pavement Design software, or other design software as appropriate
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
