This is a full-time clinical faculty position with an academic appointment in the Department of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences at the Keck School of Medicine of USC and clinical service assignments at Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Services at University Park Campus (UPC). Salary is competitive, and contingent on experience. Description of PBHS@UPC

Located in a contemporary state-of-the-art facility in the Engemann Student Health Center on USC's University Park Campus, the practice serves USC students who require intensive or ongoing mentaland behavioralhealth services. A multi-disciplinary team comprised of psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, psychologists, social workers, marriage and family therapists, and case managers accomplish the practice's mission of providing access to the highest quality of mental health care for all students.

Essential Functions

  • Reports to the Medical Director
  • Providesoutpatient treatment of mental disorders for students/patients, including evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment
  • Facilitates higher level of care referrals andhospitalizations when needed
  • Supports medicationtreatment with brief supportive therapy and motivational interviewing when indicated
  • Responds to urgent clinical concerns as needed
  • Provides after-hours on-call service, as assigned
  • Participates in multidisciplinary case conferences and clinic meetings
  • Collaboratesand consults with other mental health and primary care providers who may also provide psychiatricmedication management to students/patients
  • Attendsand contributes to department and division meetings, fostering clinical objectives and a consultativecollegialenvironment
  • Participatesin biannual peer review, merit review, and quality improvement activities

Minimum Qualifications

  • Licensed to practice as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the State of California
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of Psychiatric Ambulatory Care experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Commitment to the highest ethical standards of professional practice and to lifelong learning
  • Cultural competence and humility, including an appreciation of how experiences, beliefs, values of diverse individuals and groups affects clinical interactions and practice
  • Ability to work cooperatively on an interdisciplinary team and with public, private, and other community organizations
  • Willingness to promote and function in a collaborative and collegial environment to serve the department, health system and medical school missions

The annual base salary range for this position is $140,000-$200,000.
