The Vision Center at Children's Hospital Los Angeles has established a one-year AUPO FCC compliant fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus in association with the University of Southern California Eye Institute and Keck School of Medicine. An optional second year is offered. The fellowship is designed to provide an in-depth experience in the care and management of all aspects of pediatric ophthalmology including, but not limited to, strabismus, anterior segment disease, retinopathy of

prematurity, neuro-ophthalmology, oculoplastics, and ocular oncology. The program is also

designed to provide a broad research experience in pediatric ophthalmology and

strabismus.

"The annual base salary range for this position is $75,218-$100,079. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations."

The fellowship is a full-time commitment. Upon completion of the program, fellows will be adequately prepared for an academic career in pediatric ophthalmology. A stipend is provided. The fellow divides his/her time between the Los Angeles County + USC Medical Campus and Children's Hospital Los Angeles, with the majority of time spent at Children's Hospital. Fellowship applicants must have completed an accredited residency in ophthalmology, and they must be Board eligible in ophthalmology. At this time, we are not sponsoring applicants who require a visa. A California medical license is required in order to begin the fellowship, and it is possible to apply for a California medical license online.
