Position Overview

Essential Job Duties
The Southeast Climate Adaptation Science Center (SE CASC) in partnership with Consortium host NC State University is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar to further climate adaptation research and synthesis on invertebrates, focusing on bees. The mission of the SE CASC is to help fish, wildlife, ecosystems, and people adapt to a changing climate. The SE CASC focuses on the co-production of actionable science for natural and cultural resource management. The number of invertebrate species far outpaces the number of vertebrates, with almost 1.3 million invertebrates described. Many perform activities critical to ecosystem functions and services, but invertebrates are often missing in climate adaptation plans for species or habitats.
We seek a Postdoctoral Research Scholar with expertise in the analysis of large monitoring datasets to understand climate impacts on invertebrates, in particular bees. We are particularly interested in applicants with a diversity of quantitative skills to analyze and visualize data but will also consider applicants who have strong taxonomic and natural history expertise in bees and regional threats to specific bee groups to develop management briefs for climate adaptation.
Other Work/Responsibilities
Collaborate with teams of management partners and regional and national postdocs working on synthesis projects.
