ASEE). Established in 2010 by Dr. Ross W. Lampe Jr., the endowed Lampe Distinguished Professorship in
BME will support the recruitment and one of the Joint Department's next leaders in biomedical engineering.

Essential Job Duties |
NC State and
UNC seek to recruit a Professor of the Biomedical Engineering Department, who will join
BME as a leader in contributing to the academic, scientific, and administrative advancement of the Joint Department. The recruitment of candidates to the Joint Department for this endowed professorship will be at the tenured, full professor level. The successful candidate is expected to bring an internationally recognized research program, a demonstrated ability to attract external funding, and the ability to teach
BME courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. It is envisioned that the Lampe Professor will spearhead multi-disciplinary, multi-department, and/or multi-university initiatives focused on addressing key research challenges in Biomedical Engineering.
The search is for all areas of Biomedical Engineering including, but not limited to: biomedical imaging, biomedical microdevices, pharmacoengineering, regenerative medicine, and rehabilitation engineering. |

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Candidates must possess a Ph.D., M.D.- Ph.D., or equivalent in Biomedical Engineering or related discipline
- Demonstrated a commitment to Biomedical Engineering education, outreach, and research.
- Candidates must have an already established strong research program and an excellent teaching record.

Other Required Qualifications |
- The successful candidate will have achieved scholarly accomplishments, credibility, and recognition with a disciplinary background in biomedical engineering or in a field that integrates engineering applications and medicine.
- The successful candidate will maintain an entrepreneurial, ambitious mindset that spans research and education.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Competitive candidates will have credentials consistent with an appointment as Full Professor, including Ph.D., M.D.-Ph.D., or recognized equivalent;
- Candidates must have an already established strong research program and an excellent teaching record;
