Your Job Koch-Glitsch is hiring a Logistics Supervisor in Wichita, KS, offering an opportunity for self-motivated applicants to grow and develop skills in logistics planning and execution. As a Logistics Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful shipment of our products in the US and worldwide. Working alongside the logistics department team, you will meet demands, supervise, and lead the logistics team, develop a positive culture, and set operational goals. You will collaborate with various teams, understand business requirements, plan shipments, secure bookings, and ensure compliance with regulations. Your responsibilities will include overseeing logistics operations, conducting training, building relationships with stakeholders, and employing critical thinking to ensure on-time and undamaged delivery of goods. Our Team You will work closely with the logistics department team and collaborate with various internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of logistics. Together, we will strive to provide reliable, timely, and cost-effective logistics services. What You Will Do * Supervise and lead a logistics team, fostering a positive culture and setting operational goals. * Own logistics operations, collaborating with upstream teams for transportation planning, logistics coordination, record management, and execution. * Drive continuous improvements by conducting necessary training, monitoring performance, and providing feedback to the operations teams. * Build positive relationships with internal and external customers, teammates, and carriers to provide high-quality service. * Utilize critical thinking to evaluate options and resolve unplanned events with carriers, ensuring on-time delivery and minimizing additional charges. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) * Experience in the logistics, warehousing, international shipments, or transportation industry. * Experience coaching and developing employees. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. What Will Put You Ahead * Experience utilizing data to drive action and influence decision-making. * Experience in dispatching or planning within the Transportation/Logistics industry. * Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business, Economics, or a related field. * Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms and Transportation Management Systems (TMS). * Experience managing logistics contractors/vendors. #LI-MW1
