National Account Manager - Charlotte, NC

The Blueprint (Role Summary)

This role, reporting to the Director of Sales, will be responsible for developing and guiding the implementation of national account specific business plans, achieving profitability and sales targets, serving as the primary account contact, providing account leadership, and meeting/exceeding sales goals. Primary national account responsibility will be for Lowes, Advanced Auto, Menards, and other accounts as needed. Other account responsibilities and duties can be added as needed.

The Build (Key Responsibilities)

* Develop and drive account goals aligned with overall retail channel strategy

* Gain the trust of key customer contacts across purchasing, merchandising, inventory and marketing teams

* Be the go-to advisor for ATG product segments with named accounts

* Conduct regular business performance touchpoints with customer senior management

* Develop and grow business on account(s) e-commerce platforms.

* Develop promotional plans aimed at store and eCommerce placement

* Establish a sales planning cycle with the customer's sales leadership

* Analyze customer data (POS, etc.) and use findings to drive business decisions

* Utilize Value Selling techniques to listen and understand customer needs and demonstrate the ability to identify viable solutions and business opportunities.

* Obtain and maintain excellent product knowledge to present product line, demonstrating technical knowledge regarding function and application.

* Communicate effectively internally and externally, as necessary to support and develop business.

* Demonstrate knowledge of ATG pricing, and awareness of competitive products and pricing.

* Work cross-functionally with other ATG teams such as Marketing, Product Development, Operations, Customer Service, etc.

* Ability to prioritize key activities and drive initiatives to completion

The Toolbox (Qualifications)

* Bachelor's degree in marketing or business-related field; may consider 5+ years relevant experience in lieu of degree

* 3+ years successful experience, preferably calling on Big Box retailers

* Proven track record of accomplishments and achievements in penetrating large, complex accounts and driving business growth.

* High energy, driven, self-starter.

* Business acumen and organizational savvy

* Strong presentation, communication and negotiation skills required.

* Ability to manage in matrix management situations.

* High Level of personal accountability

* Must display strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

* Collaborative team player

* Excellent computer/systems skills (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Word) as well as ERP experience (SAP strongly preferred)

* Ability to travel (including some overnight) up to 40%
