Renown Health, Northern Nevada's largest and only not-for-profit healthcare network, is seeking to hire Division Chief of Trauma, Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery to join our growing Department of Surgery, Division of Trauma. Incumbent will be practicing in the region's busiest full-service Level II Trauma Center serving a catchment area of over 900,000.

Renown Health and the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine (UNR Med) are affiliate partners in Nevada's first integrated academic health system. The affiliation aims to improve the health of the community, region, and state through research, medical education, and expanded clinical care. Renown physicians participate as joint faculty at UNR Med for teaching, lectures, supervising clinical rotations, and other academic activities for the education of medical and physician assistant students, residents and fellows.

Description



Education:



Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English.



Experience:



Proven experience in leadership. Completion of a residency and fellowship program in Trauma and Critical Care or Acute Care Surgery Fellowship or be a board certified general surgeon with adequately focused trauma surgery experience with a minimum of three (3) years of general clinical surgery practice experience.



License(s):



Must possess and maintain a current and valid State of Nevada Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic (DO) medicine license. Controlled substance License to Prescribe issued by the State of Nevada and Controlled Substance Registration Certificate issued by the DEA, required.



Certification(s):



Board-Eligible or Board-Certified by American Board of Surgery in Trauma and Critical Care completing a Trauma and Critical Care/Acute Care Fellowship. If Provider is Board Eligible at time of hire, Board Certification must be obtained within two (2) years of employment.

Advanced Certification Life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) required. Prefer American Heart Association (AHA) approved certification, but will accept online certification from American Red Cross Training Services, Advanced Medical Certification, or ACLS Certification Institute.



Computer / Typing:



Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.



Ability to credential through Renown's Medical Staff and/or payor credentialing, as applicable.
