Position Summary
The Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the University of New Mexico is seeking an exceptional candidate for a full-time position as Clinical Vice Chief of Anesthesia Service (CVSCA) at the University of New Mexico Hospital (UNMH) - Sandoval Regional Medical Center (SRMC) campus. The CVSCA will additionally serve as the Medical Director of SRMC preoperative services. The selected candidate will be a clinician educator employed by the University of New Mexico Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the academic rank of assistant, associate, or professor, dependent upon level of academic experience. The selected candidate must be board certified in Anesthesiology.
The Clinical Vice Chief of Anesthesia Service serves an integral part of the departmental leadership team reporting directly to the Chair and Chief of Service of Anesthesiology, for all coordination, communication, and operational support that is provided at SRMC.
New Mexico boasts 300+ sunny days per year and is a prime location for outdoor activities such as climbing, hiking, skiing, and more! Albuquerque alone offers more than 400 miles of hiking trails.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must hold unrestricted medical license
- Must hold M.D. or equivalent
- Must be Board Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology .
Preferred Qualifications:
- Resident Teaching Experience
- Research and Scholarly Activities
- Experience in Trauma Call Assignments
- Experience directing and planning of anesthesia functions
- Experience managing anesthesia personnel
- Experience developing quality of care initiatives
- A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities
