Position Summary
Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the University of New Mexico (UNM) in Albuquerque is seeking pediatric anesthesia-trained anesthesiologists for full-time Clinician Educator Track, Assistant/Associate/Professor to teach and practice at UNM Children's Hospital. Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine comprises of 50 faculty anesthesiologists, 31 residents, 6 fellows, and 41 CRNA/CAAs covering 28 operating rooms, and 7 NORA locations, and perform 24,000+ anesthesia cases a year. Protected academic time is offered to pursue educational, quality, service, or research interests with supporting infrastructure. Leadership opportunities are available within the Division, Department and at the University level. Our pediatric anesthesiologists work closely with pediatric medicine and surgical specialists in a collegial environment that fosters collaboration. The UNM Hospitals through the Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology, provide over 7,000 anesthetics per year to the children of New Mexico. UNM Children's Hospital is State's only Children's Miracle Network Hospital and a quaternary medical referral center. It is States only 52 bedded level IV Neonatal ICU and 20 bedded Pediatric ICU with Level I Trauma Center. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must hold unrestricted State of New Mexico medical license by time of hire.
- Must have a M.D. or equivalent.
- Must be Board Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology or within three years of residency and active in the certification process by time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completed Pediatric Fellowship.
- Ability to work with Residents, Medical Students, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists/Anesthesiology Assistant's and do solo cases.
- Ability to Cover Clinical Call at the Children's Hospital.
- A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
