Job Summary:

The Jutras lab is recruiting an eager, talented postdoctoral associate to study the biology and pathogenesis of Borrelia burgdorferi- the Lyme disease spirochete. We are seeking someone with exceptional expertise in mouse immunology and/or bacteriology to join our team.

Please note: Occasional weekends and evenings as requested and with some possible travel, as required.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Conducting molecular, cellular, and/or experimental models of infection
  • Designing experimental approaches, data analysis, background research
  • Preparing manuscripts, grant writing, and other scholarly activities

Miscellaneous

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD in Microbiology, Immunology, Molecular Biology (or related fields)

Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)

  • Molecular Biology techniques
  • Able/willing to perform bacterial infectious disease studies in experimental animal models
  • Data analytics
  • Data presentation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Productive PhD in an active and engaged environment

Preferred Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities)

  • Advanced microscopy
  • In vitro and ex vivo mouse immunology
