JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Biomolecular and Biomimetic Materials Laboratory in the Biomedical Engineering Department is seeking to hire two Postdoctoral Scholars to conduct independent research under the direction of Dr. Yong Wang. Working in a collaborative multidisciplinary team, the postdoctoral candidate will conduct extensive research to develop biomimetic extracellular matrices and cell walls using aptamers and hydrogels for protein and cell delivery. Responsibilities of the position include developing novel aptamer-based biomaterials or drug delivery systems for regenerative medicine, cancer immunotherapy, genome editing, and cell regulation. Education and Experience: The position requires a doctoral (Ph.D.) degree in Biomedical Engineering or related discipline by the time of appointment. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in biomaterials, cell biology and genome editing. Appointment duration is for one year, renewal possible depending on the performance of the candidate and availability of funds. Candidates must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
