  • The forensic psychologist of the Juvenile Court Clinic provides written forensic and clinical evaluations of children, adolescents, and families that is consistent with professional standards and ethical responsibilities of the mental health fields. The forensic psychologist of the Juvenile Court Clinic will conduct testing as needed and consultation services as ordered or requested by the Worcester County Juvenile Court.

  • Major Responsibilities:

    1. Forensic evaluations to include competency to stand trial, criminal responsibility, competence to proceed, and involuntary mental health and substance use civil commitments. Other evaluations may include crisis, psychosocial, substance use, violence risk, parenting, fire-setting, and sexual behavior risk-needs.

    2. To provide individual, group, family and case management services as needed. This may entail travel in the community.

    3. Provide consultation to families, probation officers and judges, other treaters, residential program, schools, physicians, DCF, etc.

    4. Provide testimony, formal and informal.

    5. Arrange for the diversion of mentally ill persons from the justice system when clinically and legally appropriate by using links between the Juvenile Court Clinic and insurers and providers of behavioral health services.

Qualifications:

Required:

1. Minimum of doctorate in Psychology or Counseling Psychology

2. Must be a licensed psychologist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

3. Must pursue and obtain CJCC I & II training as per statewide Juvenile Court Clinic Protocol

4. Satisfactory CORI background check.

5. Current valid US-issued driver's license and a registered, inspected, and insured automobile for work related duties including travel between work sites.
