You will join our Energy Department

As our new Construction Manager, you will be part of our growing New York City Energy team who are managing energy efficiency upgrades all over the city. Our construction management team works hard and supports each other on their projects. No one is alone or works in a silo. Construction management is challenging and there is an opportunity to learn something new every day.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Project delivery on budget and in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate and run project meetings with all stakeholders.
  • Review drawings and specifications and other project documents to understand sequence of construction activities. Coordination with End User/ Client to facilitate construction.
  • Interface with the subcontractors, government agencies and the client in formal and in-formal settings. Establish and maintain daily contact with appropriate city officials and inspectors.
  • Perform on-site inspections for conformance to contract documents. Verify that all inspections are complete and passed by the controlling entity.
  • Maintain a safe work site by ensuring that all Subcontractors adhere to good housekeeping regulations and safety requirements, enforcing safe work habits, and observing OSHA and any governmental agencies & regulations. Serve as the Site Safety Officer.
  • Be aware of applicable building codes and OSHA requirements.
  • Perform checklists and reports that aid in overseeing all aspects of the construction process.
  • Coordinate Client Training, orientation/walk-through.
  • Track warranty service activities. as well as payments to ensure timely payments to OBG and Subcontractors.
  • Enter all required information into Client Document Management Program (eg Contract Manager/ Primavera).
  • Develop and manages the testing and closeout process Procurement and Administrative Responsibilities.
  • Provide updates to the Project Manager as it relates to cost, schedule and client management for a given project.
  • Prepare front end documentation for design packages, prepare procurement phase schedules using MPP, prepare and submit meeting minutes for client review along with periodic reports to client.
  • Perform pre-bid walkthroughs and coordinate with procurement team to get bid packages submitted to Client.
  • Coordinate bidding process including contact with potential bidders and leveling bids.

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Ability to read plans/drawings/specifications and interpret data.
  • Experience with construction of large HVAC equipment, such as boilers, chillers, pumps, AHUs desirable. (0-2 years)
  • Construction sequencing and planning, construction scheduling/durations, safety planning, means and methods.(0-2 years)
  • Ability to travel to all boroughs, including Staten Island.
  • Ability to work independently.
