Ramboll offers a remote and hybrid work environment.

As our offshore wind power systems Engineer, you will be responsible for attending industry events occurring in the Northeast for Offshore Wind development.

We currently have an opening for a lead power systems engineer to lead our support of the growing offshore wind industry. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of offshore electrical design. As lead power systems engineer you will be part of our team of experts. The department is a highly experienced and successful key player within the energy industry around the world, covering all aspects of the client's value chain in offshore wind projects, energy transition projects as well as large scale industrial projects. This role requires a combination of skills including technical leadership, project management, and business development.

Responsibilities:




  • Serve as a technical lead electrical engineer in all project execution phases from early development to construction phase. Projects will include power systems support for the offshore wind industry, including offshore substation topsides.



  • Lead the quality review process of work products developed by others, lead a team of electrical designers and electrical engineers, and coordinate the work of other discipline engineers into the final design deliverables.



  • Develop and review technical engineering specifications for electrical equipment



  • Understand and implement the codes and standards as related to the offshore environment, including but not limited to BOEM, BSEE, US Coast Guard and NERC requirements.



  • Perform design and lead electrical studies and calculations for power systems



  • And it would be beneficial, not a requirement, if you have experience with the following:



  • Design and specification of offshore/onshore cable systems



  • Insight in protection philosophies and concepts



  • Insight in station control systems



  • Insight in SCADA/automation/OT security




Skills and Qualifications:




  • 10+ years relevant offshore work experience in power systems, wind farms, offshore oil and gas or similar industries.



  • BS, MS or PhD within Electrical Engineering engaged in lifelong learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issues.



  • PE license in the USA preferred. Solid knowledge of power systems design, specification and requirements of electrical studies and calculations



  • Communication: capability to effectively communicate with employees, clients, and business partners to create a clear and mutual understanding on common goals, directives and expectations. Possess skills ranging from negotiating, conflict resolution, communications, influencing and coaching.



  • Business Perspective: demonstrates the understanding of Ramboll's operations and functions, as well as the industry and competitive environment in which it operates to make effective business decisions.
