Job Summary

The IT Business Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial management and contract administration for the IT department. This role will serve as the primary owner of the IT budget and financial performance of the IT division, including variance analysis, forecasting, and business case development. This role also acts as a liaison between IT, Finance, Purchasing, and third-party vendors, ensuring efficient management of contracts and purchase orders. The incumbent will also review existing contracts for duplication, financial stewardship opportunities, and consolidation possibilities to optimize financial performance and resource allocation.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

Financial Management:

  • Oversee the budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance for the IT department.
  • Conduct variance analysis comparing actual technology spend versus planned forecasts and prior periods.
  • Perform project-based financial analysis and modeling to support operational and capital spend reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of business cases for financial investments.
  • Review monthly department results with IT Leadership, highlighting performance and coordinating forecasts.
  • Support the annual planning and quarterly forecasting processes.
  • Create insightful and actionable analyses to inform significant business initiatives.
  • Generate recurring and ad-hoc reports to facilitate data-driven decision-making.

Contract Administration:

  • Serve as the point person for IT contracts, coordinating with Finance, Purchasing, and third-party vendors.
  • Manage the process of new and renewal contracts and purchase orders to ensure streamlined operations.
  • Review existing contracts to identify duplication, opportunities for financial optimization, and consolidation.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure consistent and robust contract management practices.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to enhance the efficiency of IT finance processes.
  • Work collaboratively with IT leadership and senior business and corporate financial leaders to provide transparency into financial results.
  • Analyze financial risks and opportunities, developing reporting and recommendations to impact overall financial results and objectives.

Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Work effectively with IT leadership teams, overseeing the complete financial budget(s), forecasts, and financial performance for the area.
  • Provide guidance to stakeholders in achieving financial objectives.
  • Convert detailed financial data into understandable reporting summaries, analysis, insights, and actionable recommendations for IT Leadership.
  • Manage the quarterly forecast process and annual budget plan to support strategic business imperatives.
  • Respond to financial inquiries by gathering, analyzing, summarizing, and interpreting data for IT business leaders.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Computer Science, or a related field

Experience - 2+ years Financial Analysis Experience

Preferred:

Education - Master's degree in related field

Experience - 2+ years IT Contract Management Experience

Physical Requirements:
Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
