This is an entry-level auditor role that independently executes internal audits (including assurance and advisory engagements), Internal Control Over Financial Reporting (ICOFR), and external audit assist work across multiple areas of a growing financial services organization. You will support the internal audit function in providing independent assurance and valuable insights to leadership to enhance the control environment and drive process improvements and efficiencies.This role will give you the opportunity to develop your internal audit skills and leverage data analytics, while gaining experience in investment, wealth management, and workplace retirement solutions. Note: this role is a hybrid position based out of Greenwood Village, CO

What you will do

  • Assess the design adequacy and operating effectiveness of controls in operational audits and the ICOFR program, including: conducting process walkthroughs, creating flowcharts, executing detailed testing, creating documentation, and forming conclusions. Perform and/or review external audit assist work.
  • Support the Internal Audit projects in developing and implementing data-driven audit methodologies.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the business, risks and processes for engagements.
  • Identify emerging issues that may impact the audit plan/engagement(s).
  • Apply risk-based judgment in work and assist in risk assessment and scoping activities.
  • Assist in developing audit work scope/objectives using risk-based judgment.
  • Collect and organize data to support audit processes and identify any unusual patterns or areas of concern.
  • Use common data analysis tools to assist in reviewing and summarizing audit data.
  • Independently determine conclusions and evaluate findings to present to supervisors.
  • Assist with drafting audit reports and deliverables timely and to a consistent high standard of quality.
  • Collaborate with teammates and business stakeholders effectively.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and basic data analysis techniques to continuously improve your skills. .

What you will bring

  • Bachelor's in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent
  • Interest in pursuing CPA or CIA

What will set you apart

  • Relevant internship experience or equivalent is a plus.
  • Has developed awareness of internal controls, risk management, and/or internal audit methodology.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to notice trends in data
  • Experience utilizing and demonstrated pursuit of analytics principles, tools and techniques (PowerBI, Tableau, Alteryx, ETL)
  • Strong organizational skills or ability to multi-task, including the ability to adjust to changing risks, events, and priorities
  • Demonstrates strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity and personal accountability.
  • Displays a positive and outcome-oriented approach.
  • Builds collaborative and cooperative relationships with the business.

Base Salary Range

$60,200.00 - $85,025.00

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
