The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), part of the State University of New York and an internationally renowned college of art, design, business and technology with a strong emphasis on liberal arts, invites nominations and applications for a Policy and Compliance Coordinator.

Job Description:

The Coordinator will be a front-line staff coordinating day-to-day operations for the Office of Policy and Compliance. Reporting to the Director of Policy and Compliance, the Coordinator provides administrative support for policy, training, records management, compliance projects, and general office administration support.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:



  • Office of Policy and Compliance Support

    • Process and track expenses through FIT's finance management system.
    • Prepare departmental budget reports for the Director.
    • Maintain and update the Office of Policy and Compliance webpages.
    • Schedule meetings, distribute office mail, maintain office supply inventory, and monitor and respond to office emails.
    • Other related duties as assigned.


  • Compliance Management

    • Maintain the College's compliance database reflecting description of regulations, responsibilities, and resources on an ongoing basis.
    • Periodically contact representatives from the compliance areas to remind them of upcoming compliance requirements and follow up on institutional regulatory compliance obligations.
    • Assist the Director in researching regulations by reviewing regulatory bulletins and other sources of information.
    • Assist the Director in overseeing routine compliance requirements and implementing procedures for monitoring compliance, including related special projects.


  • Records Management

    • Maintain the College's record retention schedule in compliance with NYS Archives LGS-1 Records Retention and Disposition Schedule.
    • Assist departments with the disposition of their records and maintaining records of disposition.
    • Assist with records management special projects.


  • Policy and Training Management

    • Prepare monthly training completion reports for payment processing.
    • Provide training verifications for specific areas as required.
    • Maintain the Master Policy Database.
    • Assist the Manager of Policy and Training with related special projects.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 2 - 4 years of appropriate business experience; higher education experience is preferred.


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:



  • Knowledge of office procedures and administrative policies in an institution of higher education preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple assignments and manage simultaneous projects.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and Google Suite.

Please note all offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of the background check process.

Salary

Salary: $66,313.10 - $71,066.01 per year; commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Hiring Salary: $66,313.10 per year with step increments per Salary Schedule 92C, after one year of service and annually thereafter.

Work Schedule

Days/Hours: M-F, 9am-5pm, in person; work schedule subject to change based on needs of the department.
