The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), an internationally renowned college of art and design, business and technology, of the State University of New York, invites nominations and applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in the Science and Mathematics Department of the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Home to six academic departments, 17 minors, and two interdisciplinary majors, our faculty prepare students to become reflective, critical, and engaged citizens of the world. The Department of Science and Mathematics seeks to develop students' scientific and mathematical literacy, as well as critical thinking abilities. Using a variety of instructional delivery methods and appropriate technologies, faculty provide students with the analytical skills needed to locate and evaluate technical, scientific, and quantitative information so that they may contribute to and succeed in the global society. Job Description: The Department of Science and Mathematics seeks a full-time, tenure-track faculty member with expertise and experience in teaching mathematics with applications in data science and/or business applications or other relevant areas. The new faculty member will support the current curriculum and create new curricula, including topics related to data analysis, finance, and machine learning. Particular areas of interest involve the applied mathematics of marketing, operations management, supply chain and the digital marketplace. The ideal candidate will have experience working at the intersection of applied business mathematics and computer science. Specific competencies sought as related to the position: Globalism
