As a Sr. Engineer II - Facility Electrical Engineer supporting the Facilities Team, you will be trusted to develop and maintain standards for electrical and fire protection systems to meet Alcon requirements and code compliance at Johns Creek, GA Manufacturing Facility!

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Experience with design of electrical systems for facilities
  • Supporting daily Operations needs for electrical and automation system troubleshooting and optimization.
  • Providing analysis and support or facility power distribution, site power distribution, emergency power generation, grounding and lightning protection, lighting design, telecommunications (voice/data), fire alarm / mass notification, security, access control, and special systems.
  • Providing supporting documentation such as calculations, reports, and specifications.
  • Possessing/utilizing extensive knowledge on electrical regulatory codes. Must have prior experience with technical codes such as NEC, NESC, NFPA, IEEE.
  • Utilizing required prior experience with industrial power, electrical, and controls systems
  • Managing vendors performing maintenance in critical facilities to ensure safety, efficiency, and technical accuracy.
  • Assisting in regulatory compliance inspections and preventative maintenance on critical equipment and properties.
  • Conducting moderate/complex equipment evaluations, selection, testing, and designs to ensure reliability and scaled expansion of critical facilities.
  • Utilizing advanced knowledge of power distribution systems to actively pursue and correct site problems, and increase energy efficiency.
  • Evaluating and trending the performance of generators, battery backup systems, power plants, HVAC, life/safety, and building management systems.
  • Developing and managing emergency operating procedures and standard operating procedures.



What You'll Bring to Alcon:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • 5 Years of Relevant Experience



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in managing teams and coordinating vendor activities to achieve project milestones.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver projects timely, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Experience in a regulated business.
