As an OPERATING ENGINEER II, supporting the MAINTENANCE TEAM, you will be trusted with operating on midnight shift in the cep operations group, operating equipment in four energy plants and various areas on campus at our FORT WORTH MAIN FACILITY at FORT WORTH, TEXAS, (US).

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Perform repairs, adjustments, and ongoing maintenance in the energy plants.
  • Performs checks and rounds in the energy plants.
  • Conducts periodic PM inspections to determine maintenance work required.
  • Maintains all equipment necessary to perform work.
  • Primary emphasis is on performance of a variety of maintenance and operation tasks including water treatment testing and repairs.
  • Maintains and operates four energy plants on the Fort Worth campus with staff that works non-rotating shifts covering 24/7/365.
  • Operate the boiler and chiller systems, monitoring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing energy plant equipment on systems including chillers, pumps, cooling towers, boilers, steam/condensate.
  • Demonstrate technical expertise in one craft area (Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, and Central Utility Plant Operations) and be multi-skilled in others to successfully complete daily/weekly work assignments.
  • Operating and maintaining the automation system in the CEP Control Room



WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • 4 Years of Relevant Experience
  • Work hours: Night Shift - Thursday - Monday from 11:00pm - 7:00am
  • Travel Requirements: 0 to 10%

Preferred Qualifications:


  • 5+ years of relevant experience with primary skill in repairs and/or maintenance
  • Working knowledge of Computer, applications
