What this job involves: The Maintenance Procurement Specialist - Procurement Buyer plays a crucial role in managing inventory, receiving and issuing tools, parts, and equipment for facility operations. They utilize a Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for inventory management, conduct tests and repairs on tools and equipment, and maintain accurate records. The ideal candidate should possess trade schooling or similar working experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.

What your day-to-day will look like:
Manage the procurement of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) spare parts needed for operations through effective sourcing activities.
Accomplishes inventory management through manual counts, paperwork and the use of a Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS - Maximo).
Receive, store, identify and issue spare parts used for MRO activities.
Just In Time (JIT) parts arrival, sourcing out for better pricing, partnering with Facilities Maintenance and other local vendors in building strong relationships, documentation, and communication.
Inventory stock and update database to ensure accurate records are maintained at all times.
Recommend use of substitutes where designated or normally used items are unavailable.
Assess return of non-expendable items and follow up on return for damage and required maintenance.
Generate and disseminate reports containing information regarding the estimated time of arrival for spare parts and the current inventory status for PM/CM activities.
Any/all other duties/tasks assigned.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Desired or preferred experience and technical skills:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in the sourcing and purchasing of spare parts, ensuring a solid foundation to effectively fulfill the responsibilities of a procurement buyer.
Trade schooling or 2+ years of similar working experience in inventory management or related field.
Proficiency in using a Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS), particularly Maximo.
Familiarity with Just in Time (JIT) inventory management principles and sourcing for better pricing.
Previous experience working in a bio pharma or GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) industry, demonstrating a solid understanding of industry-specific procurement requirements, regulations, and best practices.

Required Skills and Experience:
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Proficiency in conducting manual counts and maintaining accurate inventory records.
Experience in building and nurturing strong relationships with Facilities Maintenance and local vendors.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills for effective documentation and record-keeping.
Competence in assessing and managing the return of non-expendable items, including arranging for repairs as needed.
Proficiency in generating reports on estimated time of arrival for parts and tools, as well as tracking items within the kitting cage.
Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
Hands-on experience in performing tool maintenance, including cleaning of tools, parts, and equipment upon their return by technicians.
Demonstrated adaptability and willingness to take on additional duties or tasks as assigned.
