The IT Acquisition Specialist assists with the complete acquisition process to satisfy Information Technology requirements in support of mission requirements and installation of network services at supported units and organizations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

* Assist with developing and/or providing input to the Statement of Work (SOW) or PWS, Sole Source Justification; Brand name Justification; Market Analysis; and other documentation required for procurement packages.

* Perform all Systems Engineer/Architect acquisition strategy requirement actions including:

o Acquisition planning, solicitation, and administration;

o Interprets, evaluates, and assist in developing policies and/or influences laws/regulations for emerging IT acquisition strategies;

o Monitoring and ensuring implementation of best practices;

o IT-related performance measures and quality management;

o Capital planning and investment control; and

o Information assurance/cybersecurity

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

Position may include supervisory and/or management authority/mentoring of junior personnel.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

* Requires a minimum of an Associate's Degree; Bachelor's Degree preferred.

* Requires a minimum of 5 years' experience in full service acquisition support and/or developing contract requirements packages; 10 years' experience preferred

* Special Qualifications: Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level I Certification in Contracting or equivalent and pre-contract award experience highly desired

* Minimum ofTS/SCI clearance is required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

* Knowledge of Federal government contracts and programs

* Must have good analytical skills, attention to detail, self-motivation, and highly effective organizational skills

* Must be able to adapt to a changing environment

* Must be proficient in all MS Office suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is primarily performed in a climate controlled office setting
