Job Description
The Mgr-Operations is responsible for overseeing the operations and operational processes of a core departmental function or service through a team.

Overview

The Department of Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM) is a growing department looking for professionals who are eager to help implement the St. Jude Global (SJG) mission by training the clinical workforce, developing and strengthening health systems and patient-centered initiatives, and advancing knowledge to sustain continuous improvement through research.

Responsibilities

The Manager, Contracts and Agreements will:




  • Oversee day to day operations of core departmental and programmatic contracting functions.



  • Manage operational contracting processes and negotiate departmental and vendor contracts.



  • Ensure compliance with contractual agreements.



  • Develop and implement policies and procedures in alignment with strategic goals and create a path to process improvement with department wide impact on efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality of operational processes.



  • Collaborate with staff at regional hub locations on contract related matters.



  • Communicate with senior leaders in the department and internal stakeholders to create alignment and resolve any conflicts or escalate as needed.



  • Work collectively with staff from the Office of Legal Services assigned to GPM/SJG, and with the SJG/GPM Finance, Administrative and Operations leadership team.



  • Manage team goalsetting, performance management, development, and engagement.



  • Manage budget and resource planning for own area.





Skills and Abilities:




  • Proven experience negotiating, reviewing, and managing a wide portfolio of contracts.



  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.



  • Flexibility to adapt to a changing environment and to handle multiple priorities.



  • Ability to carry out broad assignments with minimal supervision.



  • Strong writing, editing, and analytical skills.



  • Ability to handle sensitive matters in a confidential and professional manner.



  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office product suite.



  • Cultural sensitivity is a must.

Minimum Education




  • Bachelor's degree required.





Minimum Experience:




  • Minimum Experience: 5+ years of experience leading and influencing teams.



  • Proven experience driving department wide process improvement initiatives.



  • Significant experience in contract and vendor management, including negotiations.



  • Proven performance in earlier role/comparable role.





Compensation


In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $94,640 - $169,520 per year for the role of Manager, Contracts and Agreements.
