Job Description
The goal of this program is to interface with clinical and research faculty to identify promising antibody targets with potential high-impact for mechanistic discovery applications and potential clinical translation. Evaluation and development of novel technologies and therapeutic platforms will be a major focus of the program. The leader will also have the chance to directly interact with the TIRTL Blueksy Initiative (Tracking the Immune Repertoire of Tumor Lymphocytes) which will provide in-depth characterization of Ig repertoires in St. Jude patient material.

Priority will be given to applicants with a PhD in protein biochemistry, immunology, and/or with extensive experience in antibody development.

Job Duties:




  • Immediately hire three supporting positions, including Senior Scientists



  • Equip the laboratory with cutting edge equipment provided by a generous start up budget



  • Implement discovery and application pipelines for reagent development and antibody characterization



  • Explore novel platforms for protein-based therapeutics



  • Serve as a mentor for junior staff



  • Prepare materials for reports, presentations and publications.



  • Take a lead on organizing internal scientific meetings.



  • Attend relevant international scientific meetings.



  • Interact with other teams within St. Jude to identify scientific opportunities relevant for this project.



  • Participate in the direction and leadership of the HMI department





Minimum Education and/or Training:



  • Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific area is required



Minimum Experience:



  • Fifteen (15) years of relevant post-degree work experience is required
  • Thirteen (13) years of relevant post-degree work experience is required with a Master's degree
  • Eleven (11) years or relevant post-degree work experience is required with a PhD



Compensation


In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $138,320 - $262,080 per year for the role of Principal Scientist- Antibody Discovery and Therapeutics in Host-Microbe Interactions.
