Job Description
The Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating program management activities by performing tasks related to data tracking, analysis, and implementation of results that meet the goals/objectives of the department.

Overview

The Department of Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM) is a growing department looking for professionals who are eager to help implement the St. Jude Global (SJG) mission by training the clinical workforce, developing and strengthening health systems and patient-centered initiatives, and advancing knowledge to sustain continuous improvement through research.

Responsibilities

The Implementation Science Program Coordinator will be responsible for:




  • Administering one or more programs or projects.



  • Defining program or project requirements, identifying interdependencies with internal or external departments or service providers, and coordinate to receive their input.



  • Developing communications regarding the program or project; Develop project plans and/or programmatic process.



  • Developing and tracking metrics, providing complex data analysis & interpretation and developing program related reports.



  • Making recommendations for program or process improvements by providing inputs for systemic changes to program or project management processes for better planning, scope management, and risk prevention.



  • Supporting the design and implementation of policies, process and procedures. Develop process for execution of program initiatives.



  • Engaging with program management teams internally and vendors externally for coordination.



  • May include mentoring less experienced team members.





Skills and Abilities:



  • Has working knowledge in the field of clinical medicine or public health, including knowledge in implementation science methodology including frameworks, strategies, and implementation outcomes or multisystem program evaluation.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills including communication upwards and downwards as needed. Helps others understand the need for change and adapt to it. Effectively relays understanding of diverse perspectives and presents information in a clear, well thought out way and tailored to the audience.
  • Working experience in medical writing.
  • Ability to look at data critically and draw meaningful conclusions. Exhibits strong critical thinking to identify trends and draw out insights. Conducts root-cause analysis as needed. Demonstrates a strong understanding of more advanced data management tools, systems and processes. Can carry out more complex analysis of data, working with large/ complex data sets, to create reports for senior leaders.
  • Experience with mixed methods including conducting qualitative interviews/focus groups and coding data.
  • Works with a high level of independence. Is able to effectively sequence and prioritize tasks within programs and works more independently to manage day to day issues, escalating as needed. Proactively spots early indications of underperformance and takes corrective actions. Celebrates successes.
  • Quickly rebounds from setbacks, including creating viable plans to move forward. Comfort developing new processes and demonstrates nimble response to program challenges and shows support for new project directions as details develop.
  • Works with partners inside his/her function to find the best solutions that align with functional priorities. Works collaboratively to identify innovative find solutions.
  • Demonstrates a good understanding of budget planning and tracking tools & processes as well as related internal policies and procedures related to grants, contracts etc. Tracks, reconciles and reports budget for own area, highlighting any deviations and escalating as needed. Communicates with other teams to drive budgeting processes, collecting information and sharing reports.
  • Has working knowledge of project management and planning tools. Understands the overall program goals & customer needs, coordinates with cross functional teams and tracks dependencies & risks.
  • Participates in vendor evaluation processes based on a clear understanding of business needs and requisite vendor capabilities.

Minimum Education




  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required.



  • Master's degree preferred.





Minimum Experience:




  • 3+ years of experience in program management and delivery.



  • Significant experience working with project planning tools (e.g., MS Project, Microsoft SharePoint, ServiceNow, Smartsheet, Clarity, Planview, MS Office).





Compensation


In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $70,720 - $126,880 per year for the role of Program Coordinator, Implementation Science.
