Job Summary

The Manager Clinical Pharmacy will provide leadership on drug therapy monitoring activities, prescribing quality assurance, medication protocol development, antimicrobial stewardship, drug information service provision, pharmacy residency and student training, and other related pharmacotherapy services.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Provides managerial oversight and supervision of the clinical pharmacy services' employees. Develops pharmacy staff competencies as appropriate.
  • Collaborates with the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee Chairperson regarding meeting agendas
  • Oversees the medication formulary and prepares submissions for new inclusions to the formulary.
  • Assures that appropriate Drug Usage Evaluations are conducted.
  • Collaborates with physicians, nurses, pharmacists and clinical colleagues within Monument Health to establish clinical best practice standards within Monument Health hospitals and clinics.
  • Supervises the Anti-Microbial Stewardship (AMS) program and personnel within the hospital and clinics.
  • Oversees the pharmacy residency program and may also serve as the residency program director. Supports recruitment and onboarding of clinical pharmacy personnel and pharmacist residents.
  • Develops pharmacy academic student training initiatives and works with pharmacy leadership to outline and support best practice standards for pharmacy student/interns/extern training.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - Doctorate degree in Pharmacy

Certification - Pharmacist - South Dakota Board of Pharmacy

Preferred:
Work Experience - 5+ years of Clinical Experience; 5+ years of Pharmaceutical Experience

Physical Requirements:
Sedentary work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
