Job Summary:

The Staff Attorney will perform delegated legal tasks for more senior attorneys of the CareSource Legal team, which may include, but are not limited to, those tasks essential responsibilities and functions listed below.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide day-to-day legal support to the Office of General Counsel.
  • Monitor and report on legal and regulatory developments impacting Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and Marketplace plans.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on a variety legal and regulatory issues and prepare legal memorandums for clients and legal team. Draft and/or review and revise legal documents including contracts, company policies, procedures, and other internal corporate documents.
  • Assist with resolving legal disputes involving the company.

Education and Experience:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited college/university is required.
  • Exceptional law school graduates that gained practical experience in managed care could be considered, but at least one (1) year of practicing law at a law firm or in-house corporate environment is preferred.
  • Experience with legal and regulatory issues involving managed care law is preferred.

Competencies, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across a matrixed environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Word
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Excellent time/project management, organizational skills, and prioritization skills

Licensure and Certification:

  • Current, unrestricted Attorney license is required

Working Conditions:

  • General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time.

Compensation Range:
$90,500.00 - $158,400.00 CareSource takes into consideration a combination of a candidate's education, training, and experience as well as the position's scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required for the role, and other external and internal data when establishing a salary level.
