Company Technical/Quality Manager

Cape Fox, subsidiary Mountain Point, is seeking a qualified Corporate Technical/Quality Manager. This candidate will develop and implement the technical review and quality program, quality control plans, enforcing policies, assessing risk, and ensuring compliance with legal guidelines for the Mountain Point construction company. Work will be performed primarily within the United States (Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Dakota, Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas, Florida). General construction work will include: building renovations and repair; new construction; pre-construction services, IT and physical security upgrades; electrical, plumbing and HVAC; and demolition. Civil and utility work will focus on specific electrical and underground water infrastructure (e.g., potable water, storm, sewer) and all associated earth moving services. The Quality Manager is responsible for management of the Contractor Quality Control Program.

The Technical/Quality Manager supports internal department development of the corporate quality program for standard operating procedures (SOPs), deliverables, subcontractors, and employees to embed the quality focus within the company. The employee will help improve and/or develop internal quality control (QC), technical and safety policies. The Technical/Quality Manager will oversee the department of site QC officers, contractor quality system managers, and quality specialists in support of project managers, site superintendents and their construction projects. The Technical/Quality Manager provides leadership and guidance for the department, works to improve core processes, and supports projects. The employee will accept ownership to ensure the staff is developed in all quality assurance functions. This person also works to develop a clear understanding of the business and technical aspects of the quality assurance function to support the entire organization. The employee will maintain company quality records and training records for internal compliance.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Duties include:



  • Review and update company technical/quality procedures. Ensure company quality standards are met in project execution
  • Establish and continually review technical/quality programs and policies. Revise and develop new policies as required
  • Inspect a project before, during, and after construction to ensure compliance with safety, technical, and quality specifications
  • Develop and maintain a quality control plan, create documents and forms to track their findings, and supervise most construction work
  • Monitor each active project site (i.e., where work is being performed) daily to ensure full compliance with all safety requirements, and verify that the materials and workmanship are in accordance with the approved construction drawings, shop drawings, material submittals and technical specifications
  • Conduct/coordinate required employee quality training
  • Comply with Company policies, rules, procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations
  • Implement methods to inspect, test and evaluate products and production equipment
  • Ensure that products and services adhere to technical and quality standards
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data
  • Work according to deadlines for the delivery of products/services
  • Eliminate products that are not up to standards and finding the reasons for product problems



Work Environment

Primary work will be supporting construction efforts on U.S. Government contracts at military installations. Technical/Quality Managers typically work full-time in a variety of settings, including offices, facilities or construction sites. The work typically involves considerable travel and fieldwork such as project kick off with QC managers monthly audits. The employee can be exposed to dangerous or stressful situations. The employee will work on a team with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure that all aspects of a project's design and construction are completed correctly.

Employee must be able to work with minimal supervision, be flexible, cooperative and take initiative; work well under pressure, plan, be resourceful, and well organized; maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers and be polite and professional with the general public; maintain a professional approach towards work and a positive attitude and philosophy consistent with Company standards.
