MUST:

Experienced Registered Nurse

Must have 2 plus years of experience as Operating Room Registered

Must have Circulating and/or Scrubbing in experience

Must have a valid and good stand Virginia Registered Nurse Licensure

Must have a CPR Certification

Must have active BLS and ACLS

DUTIES:

The Registered Nurse- Operating Room will be responsible for the following:

Work with all members of the health care team to provide optimal care to the patient throughout his/her surgical experience

Maintain a friendly, positive and caring attitude with all patients, physicians and staff

Maintain excellent physical and mental health

Provide patient education during all phases of the patient experience at the Center

Requires the ability to assists the physician during surgery and procedures by functioning in the circulating role. The position coordinates the activities of the Anesthesiologist, Surgical Technologist, and Surgeon to ensure safe patient care.

Requires the ability to ensure patient safety through appropriate transport, transfer and positioning of patient.

Requires the ability to ensure appropriate levels of supplies and equipment to provide safe patient care.

Requires the ability to monitor the environment to ensure sterile technique is maintained throughout the procedure

Requires the ability to operate and trouble shoot OR surgical equipment

Requires the ability to perform professional intra-operative nursing care of the patient by utilizing the nursing care process and making a plan for patient care.

Must be flexible, and open to change along with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.

Must be able to work in with other nursing staff in the pre-op, OR, and PACU, as well as with ancillary staff, to provide safe, efficient patient care.
