Description

This postdoctoral position is part of a new Biden Cancer Moonshot (ARPA-H) project recently awarded to Dartmouth College. Join this growing, multidisciplinary team to help advance new surgical guidance strategies.

The Center for Imaging Medicine at Dartmouth aims to hire a talented postdoctoral researcher interested in developing and validating novel strategies for fluorescence imaging in tissue. The lab is located at the Dartmouth Medical Center and works closely with clinician collaborators. We are a multidisciplinary lab dedicated to developing and validating new strategies for evaluating drug distribution and activity, with a particular focus on fluorescence guided surgery for this position.

We are specifically looking for researchers with a background in fluorescence imaging, tissue optics and the modeling thereof, and associated instrumentation. Computational and laboratory experience are required for this position and experience with animal models is highly desirable. This position will provide the opportunity to work with a team of collaborators comprised of engineers, drug discovery experts, biochemists, veterinarians, and clinicians. Compensation for this position is competitive and above the national average. Applicants should have a PhD or plan to finish their PhD in biomedical engineering, medical physics, molecular imaging or a related field.



Key Accountabilities


  • Designs and conducts experiments towards project objectives.
  • Analyzes and interprets acquired data.
  • Learns new techniques and subject matter as part of the project. Stays current on relevant literature.
  • Conducts day-to-day research activities independently.
  • Shares objectives, results, interpretation, and conclusions with the research team.
  • Prepares, submits and shepherds journal manuscripts
  • Presents results at international conferences
  • Maintains records of their activities.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness through actions, interactions, and communications with others.
  • Performs other duties as required.


Qualifications

PhD in a relevant field (biomedical engineering, medical physics, tissue optics, molecular imaging) with a publication history
