Position Purpose:



Under the general direction of the Director this position is accountable for managing the delivery of quality rehabilitation therapy services for patients in the outpatient rehab setting and/or wound/ostomy clinic. The incumbent's responsibilities include the planning, directing, and coordinating the activities of the department's staff within regulatory guidelines. These activities include, but are not limited to recruitment, retention, evaluation and development of staff and assisting with and contributing to preparation of and monitoring of financial and budgetary information.



Nature and Scope:




In conjunction with the Director Rehabilitation Therapy Services, this position is accountable for the setting and assessing of goals and objectives for the department program and budget and planning, acquisition and maintenance of supplies and equipment, and the assessment of revenues and expenditures to ensure cost containment and compliance with budgetary allowances. In addition, the manager serves as a liaison with the medical staff, other departments and entities, and the community. A primary responsibility is the delivery of timely, quality patient care.

The incumbent oversees the provision of Rehab Therapy Services for Renown Outpatient Physical therapy and Rehab and/or Wound/Ostomy Services. The incumbent comprehends a patient's physical, motor or sensory adaptation needs, cognitive, and psychosocial needs specific to the population being served, and meets standards of quality as measured by the Unit or Department age specific competency standards.

The incumbent orients, trains, and supervises rehab therapy staff as described above as well as therapists, aides, students, volunteers and supportive staff as needed. The position participates in program development, staff continuing education and scheduling, and acts as a contact person for other rehabilitation team staff. This person evaluates, counsels and recommends hiring and termination of employees. He/She may be required to perform other duties and to work overtime.

This position does provide patient care as dictated by patient demand within the framework of patient services described for staff therapist. Patient care is estimated to be no more than 10%-20% of this incumbent's job duties.

This position does provide direct patient care.

Minimum Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred



Education:



Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Appropriate education to obtain and maintain State of Nevada licensure in physical, occupational or speech language pathology, or nursing. A master's degree is preferred.



Experience:



Five years of experience in an acute healthcare delivery system, outpatient rehabilitation, or specialty post-acute setting with increasing supervisory experience. .



License(s):



Current Nevada State licensure in Nursing, Speech and Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy is required.



Certification(s):



Current AHA BLS certification is required within 30 days of hire date



Computer / Typing:



Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
