IS4S is seeking to hire experienced Avionics Test Engineers to support the USAF for variety of large government-funded projects primarily focused on providing support to satisfy F-16 Avionics Intermediate Shop (AIS) series Automatic Test System (ATS) requirements delegated to the AIS Systems Sustainment Program Office in the 416 SCMS support of the Department of Defense (DoD) mission. The customer sustains and upgrades a host of F-16 Avionics test Equipment. We are looking for a candidate who is a self-starter, a collaborative leader and open to finding new ways to solve challenging program problems. In addition to outstanding program support, we are focused on developing modular open systems that enable rapid prototyping and Manufacturing efficiencies in support of deployment of real-world systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute IAIS Program Plans to establish and track objectives throughout the test systems lifecycle.
  2. Create and maintain customer awareness to support upgrade design, development, and testing.
  3. Develop plans to ensure effective testing and diagnosing of system components.
  4. Support Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Actions and activities to identify, analyze, and resolve CR's/gaps in a timely manner.
  5. Collaborate with industry and govt and SETA engineering teams to implement change into integration and test processes.
  6. Support analyses to evaluate system performance under different operational conditions.
  7. Participate in root cause analysis investigations and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
  8. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to quality and reliability and reduce maintenance requirements.
  9. Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends in AF 416 SCMS procedures and engineering.



Basic Qualifications:

Working Knowledge expectation -


  • AF F-16 Avionics experience and relevant Mil-STD-xxx knowledge.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Operational IAIS expertise with 10 years experience or equivalent in a related field
  • 3+ years of experience within the defense industry.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering and AF Test procedures
  • Proficiency in developing and executing Program Plans.
  • Experience in knowing the requirements for IAIS and ATS.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to conduct root cause analysis.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility for security clearance required strong interpersonal relations skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Expert level of familiarity with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work closely with a small, agile development team
  • Willing to Travel up to 30%
  • Active SECRET security clearance



Desired Experience:

  • Experience with systems such as Advanced Computer Avionics Intermediate Shop (AdC AIS), Improved Avionics Intermediate Shop (IAIS), Versamodule Extensions for Instrumentation Improved Avionics Intermediate Shop (VXI-IAIS), Rackmount Improved Avionics Intermediate Shop (R-IAIS).
  • Experience with equipment such as AIS ATS Component, Ancillary Support Equipment (SE), and Test Program Set (TPS) system hardware and software requirements used in support of USAF/EPAF/FMS weapon system maintenance sustainment operations to the OEMs.
  • Deep F-16 and Avionics Test plans and procedures
  • Organizational experience with 748 Supply Chain Management Group, 416 Supply Chain Management Squadron (Hill Air Force Base), 416 SCMS", and AFSC, AFLCMC, or local OO-ALC organizations, such as the 309 Maintenance Group, AFLCMC/WAM (F-16 Division), AFLCMC/WNA (ATS Division), or the 516 Software Engineering Squadron (SWES).
  • Specifics with Energetic materials to include composites and formulations for chemicals, munitions, propellants, explosives, pyrotechnics, and other materials which can generate explosive hazards.
  • Prior military service
