About the Role:
Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Set Up Machinist to join our team at our facility in Hatfield, PA. As a Lathe Set Up Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC lathes, ensuring the production of high-quality parts. This role requires expertise in CNC Lathe (2-4 axis) or CNC Lathe (5+ axis), as well as proficiency in blueprint reading, ability to interpret G-Code, and mechanical troubleshooting skills. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC lathes, including Okuma and Doosan machines, to produce precision parts
- Read and interpret blueprints to determine machining operations and specifications
- Perform machine setups for production runs, ensuring proper tooling, fixtures, and programming
- Utilize calipers, micrometers, measurement gauges, and other precision instruments to verify dimensions and maintain tight tolerances
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues with CNC machines, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity
- Write and modify G-Code and M-Code programs as needed
- Collaborate with engineers and production team to optimize machining processes and improve efficiency
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety protocols and company guidelines
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist Set Up, with expertise in CNC Lathe (2-4 axis) and CNC Lathe (5+ axis)
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints
- Strong knowledge of G-Code and M-Code programming
- Ability to perform machine setups for production runs
- Experience with mechanical troubleshooting and resolving issues with CNC machines
- Familiarity with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and measurement gauges
- Basic computer skills for program modification and documentation
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain tight tolerances
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
