Position title:
The Kim Lab Postdoctoral Scholars
Salary range:
Commensurate with qualifications and experience. The posted UCSC salary scales set the minimum pay based on the individual's Experience Level, which is determined by the number of months of postdoctoral service at any institution. See the salary scale titled, Postdoctoral Scholar-Employee /Postdoctoral Scholar-Fellow / Postdoctoral Scholar-Paid Direct -Fiscal Year. A reasonable estimate for this position is $66,737- $77,179.

Full-time (100%)
Anticipated start:
As soon as possible after initial review of the applications. Ph.D. must be in hand at time of the initial appointment.
Position duration:
Maximum Duration of Service in a Postdoctoral Title: Postdoctoral Scholar appointments are full-time and the initial appointment is for a minimum of two years, with the possibility of reappointment. The total duration of an individual's postdoctoral service may not exceed five years, including postdoctoral service at any institution.

Position description

The Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology Department (https://mcd.ucsc.edu/) at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for postdoctoral scholars who will work under the direction of Assistant Professor Euiseok Kim. The Kim Lab is excited to announce the availability of several NIH-funded postdoctoral research fellowships, funded by the BRAIN Initiative and other R01s. We are seeking dynamic and motivated individuals to join our innovative and stimulating research group. Our lab aims to uncover the fundamental principles of neural connectivity formation and its impact on animal perception and behavior. We take a multidisciplinary approach by combining cutting-edge technologies such as engineering novel neural circuit tracing systems, utilizing next-generation trans-synaptic viral tracers, mouse genetics, single-cell genome-wide sequencing, and in vivo imaging.
