What this job involves - In this role, you will be tasked with carrying out general maintenance and providing support as required. Your primary responsibility will be to manage and supervise the daily functioning of the mechanical systems at the site, focusing specifically on plumbing, water/steam processes, and HVAC systems. We require an individual with advanced technical skills and extensive knowledge in building infrastructure and plumbing to fulfill this position.
What is your day to day? Under minimal supervision and direction, performs all routine and necessary maintenance, repair, and installation of plumbing, HVAC and building mechanical systems. Monitor operation and maintain heating and cooling equipment, pressure boiler systems, heating and hot water equipment; pumps, valves, piping and filters. Open clogged drains, repair or replace gaskets, fixtures, washers, leaks, tanks, laboratory components, and systems: tests or assists with back flow devices and ensures adherence to local codes and regulations. Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC systems including critical supply air units, exhaust fans and water cooled VRF systems. Understand the engineering design and operational aspects of the building and critical support systems and components. Must be able to immediately recognize system shortcomings, troubleshoot and respond to operational and emergency situations. Position will be called upon to review logs to ensure proper operation of equipment; responsible for reporting any problems/malfunctions on an as need basis. Checks malfunctioning equipment and ascertains corrective action required to restore to satisfactory operating condition. Communicate with work order requestors to better understand their needs. Write and maintain maintenance work orders and material or supply requisitions as needed. Performs any and all other tasks and duties assigned. Work Schedule 2nd Shift, 2pm to 10:30pm M-F Desired experience and technical skills Required High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Mechanical knowledge and basic plumbing 5+ years of working experience in Commercial or Industrial environments. Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate well both in oral and written reports. Proficient computer skills necessary to operate computer for general day to day work and communications. Ability to demonstrate exemplary tenant relations and provide excellent customer service. Ability to work independently as well as a productive member of a team. Ability to safely bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, push, pull, and turn frequently. Ability to frequently lift 50+lb. Position will require on call duties. Preferred Knowledge of Microsoft Office a plus. Experience in healthcare, or pharmaceutical environments a plus. Journeyman license in plumbing or HVAC is a plus. Trades schooling, technical, or vocational schooling completed a plus. #Pjobs | |
