What this job involves - The Certification Technician is responsible for performing testing/certification, troubleshooting, repairs, and documentation of equipment used in general R&D laboratory facilities (non GMP manufacturing areas). All work to be completed to ensure minimal impact to production while complying with regulatory and Company regulations.

What is the day to day?
Perform testing/certification and perform repairs/troubleshooting on BioSafety Cabinets, Laminar Flow Units, Ventilated Balance Safety Enclosure, fume hoods, animal transfer station, isolators, and non GMP cleanrooms
Provide support for testing/certification GMP manufacturing facility cleanrooms
Ensure that certification paperwork, work order documentation and all other documentation is completed promptly and accurately.
Complete all work in accordance with CFRs, cGMPs, SOPs, and Company policies, procedures and practices.
Maintain an up to date cGMP training record.
Raise the bar of your performance by taking ownership of your continuous improvement and assisting other staff members in raising the bar on their performance.
Maintain an on-going two-way performance dialogue with assigned manager.
Notify assigned manager of any training needs and advise he/she of any factors impacting your ability to perform.
Liaise with the Planning & Scheduling team to perform and complete all planned work at the scheduled time.
Perform all other maintenance and maintenance-related tasks as directed.
Identify potential problems and make adjustments to correct, or otherwise troubleshoot, formulate and execute solutions for corrective repair.
Comply with all company policies, procedures and practices.
Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.

Desired experience and technical skills -
Required
High school diploma or Equivalent
Current NSF certification required
2+ years of direct experience in certification related work
Ability to troubleshoot, systematically identify, analyze and solve maintenance problems.
Valid U.S. drivers license and clean driving record.
Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and multi-task work assignments.
Basic computer skills, including a working knowledge of MS Office programs.
Ability to accurately and thoroughly complete GMP documentation and fully comply with all applicable policies, procedures and practices.

Preferred
Ability to read and understand technical documents such as operating manuals and architectural / mechanical / electrical / P&ID drawings.
Experience working in a cGMP environment.
Experience working with established GMP procedures with other certification service providers.
Experience with building automation systems.
Experience with multi-site building operations.
Experience working with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System - Maximo).

Work Environment
Ability to work overtime, including some weekends. Shift work may be required.
Subject to call 24 hours per day and working in all weather conditions.
Ability to work in cramped spaces such as closets, crawl spaces, attics, vaults, etc.
Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
Ability to walk a large, campus-like setting, climb stairs, work on a ladder, carry tools, lift and carry 50 pound loads, operate a motor vehicle and navigate rooftops to access equipment.
Safety first attitude required. Ability to perform all work using the proper personnel protective equipment (PPE) and in strict accordance with all applicable safety policies, procedures and practices.
