Overview:

We are seeking a Piping Engineer to join our team at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN, which provides integral mission support to the NNSA. This individual is needed in order to accomplish the increased mission needs of our client.

This position is full-time and will serve the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN.

The Piping Engineer will provide full time piping design engineering support for facility and production area activities at clients facilities.

Responsibilities:




  • Provide design output documentation to support minor facility modifications. The types of design output documents typically developed by a piping design engineer within the Mission Engineering organization are drawings, engineering instructions, data sheets, equipment specifications, equivalency evaluations, calculations, etc.
  • Familiarity with and 10 years experience in developing designs in accordance with ASME B31.3 and ASME B31.1.
  • Works with other engineering disciplines and other plant organizations to produce timely design output.
  • Requires strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with various clients, production and support organizations, management, and hourly wage employees.
  • Must be willing to perform field walk-downs and work in a production environment.

Qualifications

Requirements:




  • Requires an ABET accredited BS degree in a relevant Engineering discipline plus 10 or more years of relevant professional experience or a MS degree in a relevant Engineering discipline plus 5 or more years of relevant professional experience.
  • Requires an understanding of Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, Conduct of Maintenance for facilities operating within a nuclear regulated environment.
  • Must be US citizen.
  • Successful drug screening.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance.



Prefer Qualifications:




  • Experience in an NRC or DOE regulated environment is desirable.
  • An active Q clearance.
