Job Profile Summary

This role focuses on the design, development, and implementation of information technology (IT) solutions in order to meet the organization's needs through new and existing applications, systems architecture, network systems and applications infrastructure and the management of the IT infrastructure. In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Integrations duties: IT integrations or systems integrations. A professional individual contributor role that may direct the work of other lower level professionals or manage processes and programs. The majority of time is spent overseeing the design, implementation or delivery of processes, programs and policies using specialized knowledge and skills typically acquired through advanced education. A senior level role that requires advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. Typically responsible for: managing projects / processes, working independently with limited supervision, coaching and reviewing the work of lower level professionals, resolving difficult and sometimes complex problems.

Job Overview

This position is responsible for leading, developing, testing, implementing, and supporting interfaces on our interface engines (Cloverleaf and Epic Bridges). Subject matter expert, responsible for resolving complex issues, overseeing intricate design and build challenges, and helping support I.S. department goals and strategies. Work collaboratively with all organizational staff at any level as a specific assignment would require and is expected to relate effectively with outside software vendors and or consultants in accomplishing assigned work.

Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related area.

2. Four (4) yeas of Healthcare IT experience including working with HL7 interfaces and some form of programming language or scripting tool.

3. Experience with Cloverleaf and Epic Bridges.

4. Experience with health care information systems from Epic.

Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

1. Assists Integration Manager with coordinating workload related to system integration and health information exchange.

2. Has primary oversight responsibility for the development, implementation, training and monitoring of HL7 interfaces through an interface engine.

3. Acts as technical liaison between vendors, analysts, management, and end-users on integration projects.

4. Provides integration/interface recommendations for managers, as needed.

5. Performs interface engine upgrades.

6. Provides primary on call support for interface errors (interface engine or FTP-related) outside of business hours. Often this role is on call for the most critical applications requiring the fastest and most skilled level of response.

7. Oversees the implementation of file transfers using our FTP platforms.

8. Serves as a member of the technical teams in Information Services, collaborating with technical resources as well as business analysts to meet hospital needs.

9. Leads team projects, with the objective of assisting others to become more technically proficient.

10. Develops policy and procedures for code reuse, documentation, and testing.

11. Writes design documentation, and functional requirements and specifications with guidance.

12. Works collaboratively with others in meeting user expectations and team deadlines.

13. Writes medium-to-complex code.

14. Participates in test case scenarios and LIVE support.

15. Leads integration projects.

16. Monitors adherence to established Organizational and IS policies and procedures. Complies with Privacy and Security controls and procedures.

17. Is a subject matter expert in integration and is responsible for resolving complex issues, overseeing intricate design and build challenges, and helping support I.S. department goals and strategies.

18. Provides guidance to less experienced analysts.

19. Manages small and medium sized projects with minimal managerial oversight. Can take a key role in larger projects.

20. Enhances professional growth and competency in field through participation in educational programs, in-service meetings and workshops and reading of current literature.

Physical Requirements:

1. Frequent sitting, occasional standing & walking, and lifting of 5-10 lbs.

2. Mental requirements will be intense at times with involvement in many concurrent multi-faceted projects.

3. Requires manual dexterity using fine hand manipulation to operate a computer keyboard or related equipment.

4. Requires ability to see computer screen, monitoring equipment and reports.

Skills & Abilities:

1. Ability to be successful by prioritizing work, surveying resources, developing and choosing options, implementing change and deducting future needs from available information.

2. Ability to develop or support data interfaces and programs.

3. Highly proficient in relevant IT programming language, databases design tools and standard office software applications a must (e.g. Microsoft).

4. Expert-level knowledge of report writing tools including Microsoft Office, SQL, SQL injector. Will consider other industry- related products or database management tools.

5. General knowledge of current technological and healthcare related trends and developments in the area of health care integration.

6. Skills in developing and maintaining effective interpersonal relationships, including persuasion, negotiation, gaining support and eliciting information.

7. Ability to build and maintain rapport with superiors, peers and subordinates.

8. Ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely.

9. Excellent communication (oral, written, presentation), interpersonal and consultative skills.

10. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

11. Must work well under general supervision on both routine and non-routine tasks within established parameters.

12. Problem-solving skills within team environment and with end users.
