UH Cleveland Medical Center is an American College of Surgeons verified Level 1 Trauma Center evaluating over 4,000 trauma patients annually. The Division also runs a 24/7 Acute Care Surgery service and a Trauma/Surgical Intensive Care Unit, all three at our tertiary care, academic medical center campus. These service lines have seen tremendous growth over the past several years. The surgeon who joins this team must be prepared for a very busy practice in an urban environment with high acuity and high rates of penetrating trauma. Our surgeons hold academic appointments as Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and are expected to participate as teaching faculty for medical students and residents from multiple departments. The Division has a robust research portfolio, including surgical simulation and a funded basic science lab with dedicated surgeon-investigators. All experience levels will be considered for this position. Salary and academic rank will be based upon applicant credentials. Requirements include ABMS-BC/BE in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care.
